The Austin ISD Board of Trustees has selected Yasmin Wagner as the new District 7 trustee.
The board made the decision at its regular meeting last night. Wagner and accountant Johnathan Sump had applied to fill former trustee Robert Schneider's position.
Wagner, a corporate communications and marketing manager, has lived in District 7 for nearly six years and in Austin for more than 20.

Performances from the beginning, middle school, and high school bands will showcase our entire program and our girls' talents. The performance will be in the large gym and is open to everyone.

Join us for the dance concert and culminating performance of Ann Richards Starlettes Dance Team. The event is at 7 p.m. in the Austin ISD Performance Arts Center Dance Studio Theatre, 1500 Barbara Jordan Blvd.
Dance styles will include ballet, jazz, modern dance and hip hop dances choreographed by Starlette Coach Holly Schmidt, Captain Giani Bright and Co-Captains Keyla Blanco and Beverly Castellanos and Dance team members.
This event is free to the public.
You're invited to join Austin ISD marching band students at the 43rd Annual Marching Band Jamboree!
This event features marching bands from each comprehensive high school in the district, and showcases their unique styles, talents and hard work.
Admission for the event is $3 if purchased from a student or school, and $5 at the door.
Parking is free at the Toney Burger Center.
Performances begin at 6:30 p.m. and last until 9:15 p.m. See you there!

Let’s Move! Active Schools is an initiative of first lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! program that awards schools for integrating 60 minutes of physical activity before, during and after school.

Beginning at 2 p.m., the Austin High School bands perform their winter concerts in the Austin High PAC.
Then at 6 p.m., we move to the cafeteria for the annual dinner dance. There, the jazz bands from O. Henry and Small middle schools and the Austin High Jazz Ensemble and stage band perform.
