All Austin ISD After-School Activities and Events for Monday, Feb. 23, are Canceled Because of Winter Weather

All Austin ISD after-school activities and events scheduled for Monday, Feb. 23, are canceled, based on updated information from the National Weather Service. 

All varsity athletics competitions will be rescheduled for a later date.

Tonight's meeting of the AISD Board of Trustees will continue as scheduled.

Austin ISD takes the safety of our students, families and staff very seriously, and will continue to monitor and receive updates from the National Weather Service regarding Tuesday's weather conditions. 

Austin ISD Presents First Technology Fair

UPDATE: Because of weather conditions, the event start time is delayed until 10 a.m.

Bowie High School is proud to host the first Austin ISD Technology Fair, showcasing technologies used in classrooms throughout the district. 

Teachers will demonstrate programs incorporating Google Classroom, Code.org, Maker Spaces, 3D printing, iTunes University, SXSW gaming, blended learning, QR codes, podcasts and more.

The Guerrero-Thompson school community is celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday and the love of reading by inviting guests from school and neighborhood communities to read in each of our classrooms.

Guest readers include Austin ISD Superintendent Paul Cruz and Austin city council member Greg Casar.

Each guest reader will share his favorite Dr. Seuss book and administer the National Education Association's Reader's Oath.

15 Austin ISD Students Selected for Presidential Scholars Program

The U.S. Department of Education has selected 15 Austin ISD students as candidates for the United States Presidential Scholars Program. 

Students from Anderson, Bowie, LASA and McCallum High Schools were selected.

"It is quite an honor for Anderson to have students selected for the program. Our candidates are outstanding academic and extracurricular scholars. They’re proved themselves in the classroom and as public servants. They’re all-around great role models for their peers," said Anderson High School Principal Donna Houser.
