Allison Elementary Earns Second Place at Central Texas First Lego League Robotics Competition
On Saturday, Dec. 13, the Allison Elementary Robotics Team competed in the Central Texas First Lego League Robotics Competition. The team earned the second place robotics award and the second place overall champions.
School Counselor Certification Program Information Session
The School Counselor Certification program at Region 13 provides a certification program designed to prepare successful teachers to become school counselors through an alternative route.

Austin High School Hosts Maroon and White Showcase 2015
Attend the Maroon and White Showcase 2015 and explore all that Austin High School has to offer.
At the showcase, you'll learn about the academy for global studies, fine arts, athletics, core classes, culinary arts and much more.
Anderson HS IB Experience Information Session
On Jan. 15, 2015, Anderson High School will host The IB Experience, an information session about the school's International Baccalaureate program.
The event will feature an overview of the program, followed by a panel discussion with current and former students. The IB program uses a rigorous curriculum based on international standards of achievement that focus on preparing students for success in college.
The program starts at 7 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center of Anderson High School.

AISD Closed for Winter Break
The Austin Independent School District will be closed for the winter break Monday, Dec. 22, through Friday, Jan. 2.
AISD offices and schools will be closed during this period. The district will resume regular business hours Monday, Jan. 5.
Tamalada Community Event to be Held at Travis High School
Travis High School culinary students, culinary instructor at Travis High School Chef John Michael Osborne, and Interim Superintendent Paul Cruz invite media to join them at a tamalada at Travis High School on Thursday.
The last school day before the holiday break, culinary students will be completing the final assembly of hundreds of pork and chicken tamales. Community members interested in sampling the tamales can give a small contribution, which will go toward the culinary program. Families are invited to this community-building event.

AISD Holds Performing Arts Center Preview Event
Media are invited to tour the nearly completed Performing Arts Center in Mueller, which has been funded through the district's 2008 bond program. The facility will open in January.
Who: Greg Goodman, director of AISD's fine arts department, and Paul Turner, executive director of facilities, will lead the tour of the Performing Arts Center.
