Austin ISD invites the community to the dedication ceremony for Jamie D. Padron Elementary School. The event's attendees include members of the Austin ISD Board of Trustees, Interim Superintendent Paul Cruz, Austin Police Department Chief Art Acevedo and many more. Student tours of the campus begin at 1 p.m. The dedication ceremony is tentatively scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.

70 AISD Schools Earn 205 Distinction Designations from the Texas Education Agency

AUSTIN, Texas—The Austin Independent School District’s students performed well under the state’s new accountability system, with 110 schools meeting the standard on all components, and 70 schools earning a total of 205 distinction designations for outstanding performance in student achievement, student progress, or postsecondary readiness, according to the Texas Education Agency’s preliminary state accountability ratings released today.

Austin ISD Graduation Rates Reach All-Time High

Graduation rates for the Austin Independent School District have reached an all-time high of 84.1 percent for the Class of 2013, which is a 1.6 percentage point increase from the previous year and nearly a 10 percentage point gain during the past five years, according to the Texas Education Agency's most recent report on graduation and completion rates.
 
Graduation rates increased for every student population in AISD—across all ethnic groups, for English language learners and for economically disadvantaged and special education students.
 

Registration for 2014–15 Classes Begins Aug. 11

All students new to Austin ISD must provide a birth certificate, current record of immunizations, child's most recent report card, proof of address (rental contract or utility bill with valid address), parent photo identification or driver's license, and the child's Social Security Card (optional).
