The jury of the Sudler Shield notified the recipients in December at the Midwest Band and Orchestra Convention, which is held in Chicago each year.

What: The James Bowie High School Outdoor Performing Ensemble will perform at its Spring Concert Series, as well as receive recognition for its accomplishment in being a recipient of the Sudler Shield.
Austin, TX—The Austin Independent School District will be closed for the Memorial Day holiday Monday, May 26.

Austin ISD is pleased that the Children at Risk rankings acknowledge the exceptional performance of the Liberal Arts and Science Academy by awarding that high school the only A+ in the Greater Austin area.
The Anderson High School Robotics Team—ausTIN CANs—won the Engineering Inspiration Award in the Archimedes Division at the FIRST Robotics World Championship, April 23-26, in St. Louis.
There were three other division winners at the international event, attended by 400 teams.
The Engineering Inspiration Award recognizes “outstanding success in advancing respect and appreciation for engineering.”
AUSTIN, Texas—Austin ISD has released a preliminary draft of the Facility Master Plan for public comment.
The district will use the plan to help support safe, healthy and attractive schools and facilities that promote learning. The Board of Trustees is scheduled to take action of the FMP on June 16.
