AISD Approves Distinguished Level of Achievement as Default Graduation Plan

AUSTIN, Texas--Monday, Austin ISD's Board of Trustees established the Distinguished Level of Achievement graduation plan as the district's default graduation plan beginning with the Class of 2018.

The trustees also approved the requirement of one credit of physical education and one half credit of health to meet graduation requirements for all plans beginning with the Class of 2018.

AISD Earns High Marks on Nation's Report Card, Ranking at Top of Urban School Districts in Math and Reading

AUSTIN, Texas—AISD students continue to outperform their peers in large urban school districts on the Nation's Report Card, ranking among the top in math and reading--while economically disadvantaged students and English Language Learners outperformed their peers nationally.

AISD Earns High Marks on Nation’s Report Card

The National Assessment of Educational Progress, also known as the nation’s report card, reported AISD students ranked second in fourth grade math and third in eighth grade math in the percentage of students scoring at the proficient or advanced levels. In reading, the students ranked third in both fourth and eighth grade. AISD’s English-language learners outperformed their peers in both the nation and large cities.
