Students at Pease Elementary School will be sharing the love this Valentine's Day. Inspired by the book, "One Zillion Valentines" by Frank Modell, about a little boy who sets out to make one zillion Valentines and put them on people’s doorsteps on Valentine’s Day, the students will be hand-delivering Valentine's Day cards to businesses in the community Feb. 14.
In an effort to cut energy usage this summer, the Austin Independent School District will change its schedule during the month of July.

The Austin Independent School District has set dates for high school graduation ceremonies for members of the Class of 2013.
The ceremonies have been clustered so that campuses of the same size can hold graduation ceremonies on the same day. This will enable a more personalized set-up for the smaller campuses.
The third episode of Inside AISD, an original television series that highlights the district's people and programs, is now live.
The Austin Independent School District's preliminary 2011-12 Annual Report is now available to download online. The publication is produced annually by the Department of Public Relations and Multicultural Outreach and provides families, staff members and community members with a snap shot view of the district, including demographics, test results, information about AISD programs and more.

Austin ISD is proud to partner with Region XIII to establish the first cohort of the Professional School Counselor Certification program. The certification program allows participants to serve as working counselors under a probationary certificate while working around demanding schedules. Additionally, the program provides an opportunity to collaborate with a cohort of peers for networking. We invite you to be a part of this exciting initiative!
This month, Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo will be the featured guest on The Eagle Talk Show, a bilingual program from Walnut Creek Elementary focused on academics, developed to inform and educate parents on parental involvement in the community and educational tools. The program strengthens parent engagement and fosters more community partners with Austin Independent School District to enable our scholars to improve their academic achievement.
