AISD Partners with Nationally Recognized Organization

The Austin Independent school district is pleased to announce that it has been chosen to partner with CASEL, a leader in Social Emotional Learning. Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) ensures that children and adults are engaged as life-long learners who are self-aware, caring and connected to others, and responsible in their decision-making. Austin ISD is collaborating with CASEL, the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning to bring this nationwide initiative to Austin.

Family Support Cooperative Kicks Off First Meeting of New School Year at Rosedale School

Austin, TX—The Family Support Cooperative will host its first meeting of the 2011-2012 school year tonight, September 13, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Rosedale School, located at 2117 W. 49thStreet. The Family Support Cooperative is a collaborative effort among Austin Independent School District (AISD), Austin Travis County Integral Care and the Arc of the Capital Area to inform and support families of children with disabilities.

39th Annual Marching Band Jamboree

The Austin Independent School District (AISD) 39th Annual Marching Band Jamboree was held on Tuesday, September 13, at the Tone Burger Stadium beginning at 7 p.m. The event showcased nearly 400 AISD students, which included the AISD all-star band, Travis High School, Lanier High School, Reagan High School, Crockett High School, McCallum High School, LBJ/LASA High School, Akins High School, Anderson High School, Austin High School, and Bowie High School. Special guests, the Texas State University Marching Bobcat Band led by Director Dr. Caroline Beatty, preformed the grand finale.
