Four Austin ISD teachers were selected as finalists for Austin ISD Teacher of the Year.

- Jill Stockton, Brentwood Elementary School
- Coleen Azeez, Webb Middle School
- Cameron Daniel, LBJ Early College High School
Why it matters: Each year four outstanding educators are selected as the district’s Teacher of the Year finalists. From these, an elementary and secondary teacher will be selected as Austin ISD Teacher of the Year, and can continue on in the Regional Teacher of the Year selection process.

What’s next: The winners will be announced at Salute on May 8 at the Austin ISD Performing Arts Center.

Cuatro maestros del Austin ISD fueron seleccionados como finalistas para Maestro del Año del Austin ISD.

Por qué es importante: Cada año se seleccionan cuatro educadores destacados como finalistas para Maestro del Año del distrito. De ellos, un maestro de primaria y uno de educación secundaria serán seleccionados como Maestro del Año del Austin ISD, y podrán continuar en el proceso de selección de Maestro del Año Regional.

- La Srta. Arroyo-Forteza, maestra bilingüe de habilidades para la vida diaria, crea relaciones de confianza con colegas, familias y estudiantes al asociarse con padres y cuidadores y abogando por cada estudiante.
- La Srta. Stockton, maestra de quinto grado, fomenta una cultura que da la bienvenida, celebra, aprecia y valora las diversas voces de nuestra comunidad para que cada estudiante pueda lograr el éxito académico y social.
- La Srta. Azeez, maestra de estudios sociales, cree en el poder de la tutoría y dedica su tiempo a dar tutoría tanto a estudiantes como a educadores.
