Red Ribbon Week—Focus on Vaping
Red Ribbon Week—Oct. 28 through Nov. 1—is a national campaign to bring awareness to the risks and dangers of substance abuse. Starting Oct. 28, AISD will educate students, staff and the community about the effects of tobacco, alcohol, vaping and other drugs on our bodies and brains.
AISD to Resume Weekend Meal Offerings
Austin ISD Food Services has reinstated its weekend meal program, allowing families with students under the age of 19 to again pick up bundles, which include six meals, during Friday distribution. In honor of School Safety Week, we want to give extra attention to our Standard Response Protocols, including how campus administrators and Austin ISD police team up to keep your kids safe. We have five types of SRPs that are activated in the case of a critical incident on our campuses: Hold, Secure, Lockdown, Evacuate and Shelter.
