Dear Austin ISD Family, As we continue our budget conversations and plan for enrollment for the 2026-27 school year, I have heard your concerns and the uncertainty surrounding potential cuts and additional school closures. At last night’s Board of Trustees meeting, I shared my decision to suspend any additional school closures until we are able to further stabilize our district.

Statewide Emergency Alert Test on April 2 (En español)
Dear Austin ISD Community, The Texas Division of Emergency Management is conducting a statewide test of local alerting systems to ensure we’re all prepared and connected during emergencies. As part of our commitment to student safety, the district will participate in this exercise on Thursday, April 2. Austin ISD alerts will be sent at 6 p.m.
Additional Day School Year (ADSY)
The Austin ISD Board of Trustees approved a pilot for the Additional Days School Years calendar to add instructional opportunities over the summer and on select Saturdays at no cost to families. National Drug Take Back
National Drug Take Back Saturday, April 25 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. . .Austin I.S.D. Headquarters 4000 S. IH-35 Austin ISD PD and TX DEA are working together to get the collection of unused and/or expired prescription and over-the-counter medications. Our goal is to help prevent drug misuse while also protecting the environment.
