Mile 52: AISD Students Speeding Through Running Challenge
This September, Austin ISD launced a new initiative to have elementary students run the equivalent of four marathons throughout the school year. Students are embracing the challenge, with the majority at the scheduled halfway point of 52.4 miles.The project is part of AISD's efforts to encourage lifelong healthy behaviors and support student academic performance through physical education.
