Blackshear Fine Arts Academy Receives Library Grant
Blackshear Fine Arts Academy received a $3,000 grant from bestselling author James Patterson to support its school library.In addition, Scholastic Reading Club will match each dollar of Patterson’s donation with points teachers can use to acquire books and other materials for their classrooms. Blackshear was chosen from 27,924 applications throughout the U.S.
Austin ISD Launches Energy Leadership Program at 130 Campus Buildings Focused on Energy and Water Conservation

More than 200 AISD families at Houston Elementary school in South Austin received computers. AISD and the City of Austin along with PCs for People helped distribute refurbished desktop computers to students and their families enrolled at Uphaus Early Childhood Center, Houston, Rodriguez, and Widén elementary schools.
