36 AISD Elementary Teachers Receive K-3 Target Classroom Grants
For the first time ever, 36 K-3 teachers in 23 elementary schools of the Austin Independent School District have been awarded Target Literacy Classroom Grants, ranging from $500 to $3,500 per classroom. We are proactively working with Austin Public Health on how the district will proceed in the event Austin moves into Stage 5 of its risk-based guidelines. If that were to happen, Austin ISD would consult with public health officials to determine the next steps.
AISD Athletics Promotes Domestic Violence Awareness
October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and Austin ISD Athletics is doing its part to promote safe and healthy relationships.In partnership with the Travis County Sheriff's Office, Texas Advocacy Project and SAFE, student athletes will be wearing purple ribbons to encourage others to stand up against dating and domestic violence.
