AISD Board Approves 2016-17 Instructional Calendar
The Austin ISD Board of Trustees approved the calendar for the 2016-17 school year at the Dec. 14 board meeting.This option includes a full week off for the Thanksgiving holiday, similar to other local school districts in Central Texas, in 2016.To accommodate this change, there will be one fewer vacation day during winter break for staff. AISD Board Seeks Applicants for District 7 Trustee
Austin ISD Board of Trustees is accepting application to fill the vacant District 7 seat.The passing of Trustee Robert Schneider in July created an open seat on the board. Trustees were facing an Aug. 11 deadline to notify Travis County if they planned to hold a special election.The board voted Aug. 25 on the process for appointing a new District 7 trustee.
