More than 20 Austin-area professionals visited T. A. Brown Elementary School to speak with students about college and careers. The speakers shared stories May 18 about their professions and how they used their skills and personal interests to prepare for a fulfilling career.
Sustainability in Action at Govalle Elementary School
Earlier in April, AISD Urban Forester Matt Mears worked with students to plant seedlings in Govalle Elementary School's new open field. The seedlings came from a beloved tree that was removed from the site due to poor health and safety concerns. “Family tree” takes on a whole new meaning at Govalle as future students play and learn under the shade of this new generation of legacy trees.
