Austin ISD is celebrating National School Breakfast Week, March 5–9, by reminding the community that school breakfast provides a healthy, energizing start to the day.Austin ISD is now serving more than 13,000 free breakfasts to students daily as part of the Breakfast in the Classroom program.
Billboards: Join AISD's Family of Schools for Pre-K through College Prep
The Department of Communications and Community Engagement is working with Sendero Health Plans on a billboard campaign to support the district's enrollment priorities. Sendero has donated eight billboards in neighborhoods with Title 1 schools, which will be posted throughout Austin by the end of the month.

AISD Names Nicholas Dellas the 2014 High School Teacher of the Year
Nicholas Dellas is science department manager at LBJ Early College High School. He has a master’s degree in kinesiology with a specialization in exercise physiology from the University of Texas at Austin, and a bachelor’s degree in health science with an emphasis in athletic training from Grand Valley State University.

Tentative Schedule Prime Time after-school programming is tentatively scheduled to begin at participating campuses on October 14, 2025 and run through April 30, 2026. Campus participation is being finalized and will be confirmed by the end of August. Families will receive direct communication from their school if their campus is participating this year.
Oak Hill Elementary School Named National PTA School of Excellence
Oak Hill Elementary School has earned the National PTA School of Excellence Award, an honor given to just 11 Texas PTA’s and only 170 schools across the country. The award recognizes the school for its achievement in building a strong partnership between families and the school to improve student success.
