Central Texas Food Bank Available for Meals During Thanksgiving Break
Students in need of healthy meals during the Thanksgiving break will still have access to food services while Austin ISD is closed Nov. 20-24. The Central Texas Food Bank will provide services at various locations throughout the region and is available for families in need. Austin ISD Encourages Eligible Families to Apply for the Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer Program
The Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer program could provide Austin ISD families a one-time benefit for eligible families to buy food. Families could receive up to $285 per child, which can be used in the same way as Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program food benefits to pay for groceries.

Nourishing Bodies and Minds: 82 Austin ISD Schools to Provide Free Breakfast and Lunch to All Students
To help improve healthy food access, Austin ISD will be increasing the number of campuses participating in the Community Eligibility Provision for the 2019-20 school year from 43 to 82 schools. CEP is a federally funded meal program offered through the U.S. Department of Agriculture under the National School Lunch Program and the School Breakfast Program.
