AISD Closed for Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday
The Austin Independent School District will be closed for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, Monday, Jan. 19.All AISD offices and schools will be closed during this period. AISD Superintendent Delivers State of the District Address
AUSTIN, Texas—Today Superintendent Meria Carstarphen released a 30-minute "movie" presenting the annual report on the district’s goals, achievements and challenges. The film provides data and information on the state of the school district and reports on the performance scorecard as seen through the lens of staff and students, including some guest presentations.
Join the Board of Directors of the Travis Central Appraisal District
Are you interested in becoming a board member of the Travis Central Appraisal District (TCAD)? An Austin ISD appointment and a joint Austin ISD/City of Austin appointment are now open. You may apply for one or both of these appointments. To be considered, you must fill out the AISD Standard Membership Application Form in its entirety by September 28, 2018.
Blackshear Fine Arts Academy Receives Library Grant
Blackshear Fine Arts Academy received a $3,000 grant from bestselling author James Patterson to support its school library.In addition, Scholastic Reading Club will match each dollar of Patterson’s donation with points teachers can use to acquire books and other materials for their classrooms. Blackshear was chosen from 27,924 applications throughout the U.S.
