Austin ISD to Adjust Meal Distribution
AISD will adjust its meal distribution plan to provide meals Monday through Friday, no longer providing weekend meals, starting April 3. The adjustment was necessary after the Texas Department of Agriculture changed its policy around reimbursement of weekend meals. Children need nutritious meals to learn, grow and thrive—even when school is out. Through the Summer Food Service Program, Austin ISD will continue to serve free breakfast and lunch to local children and teens 18 and younger, regardless of economic status and whether or not the child attends AISD.
