Last week, the Austin ISD Board of Trustees named Stephanie Elizalde the lone finalist for Superintendent of AISD. We are excited for the Austin community to get to know Dr. Elizalde and learn about her vision for our district. Next week the district will provide a variety of opportunities for Dr. Elizalde to share more about herself and hear from our Austin community.
Buford the Book Bus visit to Turner Roberts Recreation Center
AISD Library Media Services's "Buford the Book Bus" will be visiting Turner Roberts Recreation Center, Wednesday, July 19th from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM. Children and teens will be able to choose two free books. Buford the Book Bus encourages children to read during school vacation to stop the "Summer Slide."

Middle School Students Can Now Participate in AISD Vaccine Clinics
Austin ISD is ready to get 12 to 15-year-old students access to the COVID-19 vaccine. The Food and Drug Administration authorized for emergency use of the safe and effective Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for the age group. Austin ISD has made plans to utilize already-scheduled vaccine clinics to administer the shot to anyone ages 12 and older.
