LBJ Student Newspaper Earns National Honor
The LBJ High School student newspaper, The Liberator, has won a High School Newspaper Gold Crown award from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association during the recent 87th annual Scholastic Convention. The advisor for the publication is journalism teacher Janet Elbom. Student publications were judged on writing/editing, design, content, photography, art and graphics.
Deadline for Priority Transfers, Requests for First-round Lottery is Today
AUSTIN, Texas—The Austin School District continues to accept applications for school transfers for the 2014-15 school year. The deadline to apply for priority transfers and non-priority transfers to be considered during the first-round lottery selection is today, Friday, Jan. 31st.

Board Votes in Favor of Recommendation for In-District Charter with IDEA Public Schools
On Dec. 20, Austin Independent School District Board of Trustees voted to establish a college preparatory, in-district charter program with IDEA Public Schools.
