AISD hosts 'Chopped' Student Culinary Competition at Whole Foods in partnership with Whole Kids Foundation
Teams of culinary students from Burnet and Lamar middle schools will be putting their skills to the test for the inaugural Austin ISD Chopped Student Culinary Competition. The participating teams will represent their class by preparing healthy smoothie recipes featuring the "secret ingredient," cilantro.

Hour of Code 2018
In a collaborative effort to increase awareness of computer science in schools, AISD is joining the global movement to reach hundreds of millions of students and teachers to encourage them to just try “an hour of coding” during the week of Dec. 3–9 or before. Last year, more than 400 million students tried the Hour of Code.
Dyslexia A to Z: Annual Central Texas Dyslexia Conference Provides Support to Educators, Families
The annual Central Texas Dyslexia Conference will provide support to educators and families throughout the state Oct. 18. The event is held each October in observance of Dyslexia Awareness Month. The event brings together families, educators, advocates, tutors, administrators and community leaders to learn how to best support the academic and emotional needs of students with dyslexia.
