Hour of Code 2018

Date
Monday, December 3 to Sunday, December 9, 2018

In a collaborative effort to increase awareness of computer science in schools, AISD is joining the global movement to reach hundreds of millions of students and teachers to encourage them to just try “an hour of coding” during the week of Dec. 3–9 or before. Last year, more than 400 million students tried the Hour of Code.

The Hour of Code  is a one-hour introductory activity designed to demystify computer science and show that anybody can learn the basics of computer programming. Our district’s goal this year is to have students take part in grade level–specific activities.

Join AISD students, teachers, staff and parents as we celebrate National Computer Science Education Week. We are excited to see our own MIS computer science engineers volunteering in classrooms along with local companies to help teach students how to code.

This year’s Hour of Code theme is creativity! What will you create?
