State Board of Education Names Fulmore Student Hero
Xander Christou, a seventh-grader at Fulmore Middle School, was one of 16 Texas public school students recognized by the State Board of Education as 2015 Student Heroes. The honorees, awarded for outstanding acts of charity and kindness for their fellow students, were announced May 28.

Need to Know: Aug. 6 Meeting Today, the Austin ISD Board of Trustees will discuss the possibility of revising the first day of school on the current board approved calendar to Sept. 8, 2020. The proposed calendar change would be followed by four weeks of remote learning and an additional four weeks to phase in on-campus learning.

During upcoming meetings, AISD will present the Facilities and Bond Planning Advisory Committee's FMP update and receive feedback from the public. Clifton Career Development Center to Host Disability Mentoring Day - October 19th
Renee Borders, a Hospitality Practicum II teacher at Clifton Career Development School and a transition specialist, will host the annual Disabilities Mentoring Day (DMD) on Wednesday, October 19, 2011. DMD is a program that allows students with disabilities to “shadow” local professionals in their workplaces.
