Oak Springs Students Receive Free Backpacks at Fourth Annual Event
Parents and their children were moving and dancing to a DJ’s music at Oak Springs Elementary on Monday while waiting to collect a free backpack and school supplies. While the event was an outdoor, drive-thru event, the pull of the music was too strong for some.
Austin ISD Teacher Named Finalist for 2022 Texas Teacher of the Year
On the first day of school, Superintendent Stephanie S. Elizalde surprised Sanford Jeames, health sciences teacher at Eastside Early College High School in his classroom with a gift bag, colorful orchids and an excited “congratulations!” Jeames was named the Region 13 2022 Texas Secondary Teacher of the Year and finalist for Texas Teacher of the Year.
