U.S Army "Blackhawk" Helicopter visits James Bowie High School
James Bowie High School students and faculty will have the unique opportunity to see a U.S. Army UH-60 "Blackhawk" helicopter land and take off from the athletic fields at 9 a.m. on Dec. 2. Austin ISD gathering input to guide school consolidation process (En español)

Austin ISD to provide free, healthy meals for kids this summer (En español)
This summer, Austin ISD is helping local families keep their kids healthy and energized by offering free summer meals at more than 30 schools. The details: All children 18 and under — plus enrolled students with disabilities up to age 21 — are eligible to receive nutritious breakfasts and lunches at no cost.
Health Screenings
Austin ISD will conduct the following health screenings using certified screeners in accordance with guidance from the Texas Department of State Health Services and as required by Board Policy FFAA.

AISD Celebrates Bus Safety Oct. 20–24
The Austin Independent School District willjoin other school districts and transporting agencies throughout the nation in celebrating the importance of National School Bus Safety and Transportation Employees Appreciation Week Oct. 20–24.This year’s theme, “At my Stop, you Stop” reminds motorists to stop when a school bus has its red warning lights flashing for students to load and unload.
Austin ISD Closed for Spring Break
Austin ISD will be closed for Spring Break March 17-21, 2025. All Austin ISD offices and schools will be closed during this period. The district will resume regular business hours and students return to classes on Monday, March 24.
