Wooten Elementary Parent Day Draws Big Crowds
It’s a scene you expect to see in Austin: hundreds of people standing shoulder-to-shoulder and eagerly awaiting the start of a lively music performance from some of the city’s greatest talent. But the crowd didn’t gather outside a downtown venue or massive auditorium. Instead, they huddled together in a more unlikely place—the Wooten Elementary School cafeteria.

Free Spanish-language Parent Workshop
The Austin independent School District’s Hispanic Futures program presents “Los Años Maravillosos” (the Wonder years), a new Spanish-language workshop for parents of students in grades 5-8.The workshop will be presented at 6:30 p.m on Thursday, Jan. 31, at Burnet Middle School, 8401 Hathaway; and at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2, at Garcia Middle School, 7414 Johnny Morris Road.
