Austin ISD is currently working on the calendar for the 2019–20 school year. The Calendar Task Force has worked very hard to prepare three calendar options. Austin ISD Graduation Rate Hits All-time High
Austin ISD once again hit an all-time high graduation rate. The class of 2015 graduation rate of 89.7 percent is a new record high, up 3.4 percentage points over the prior year and up more than 15 percentage points since 2008.
Austin ISD Trustees Appoint Chief Officer for Teaching and Learning
Austin ISD Trustees appoints Edmund Oropez as chief officer for teaching and learning for the district.The newly created Chief Officer of Teaching and Learning consolidated previously existing responsibilities and positions in an effort to enhance fiscal and operational effectiveness.

Austin ISD Board of Trustees Approves New District Administrators
On June 20, Austin ISD's Board of Trustees approved appointments to the roles of chief human capital officer, associate superintendent for high schools and associate superintendent of area 1 elementary schools.Chief Human Capital OfficerFernando Medina was selected as the new chief human capital officer, having most recently served as assistant superintendent of human resources in Richardson ISD.
