Austin ISD Commits to Increasing Participation by Historically Underutilized Business
Austin ISD trustees voted Monday night to approve a new program that establishes targets for the number of contracts awarded to women- and minority-owned businesses, known as a Historically Underutilized Business program. Austin community members can support Austin ISD and other local school districts by adding a few dollars to their utility bills. The added money goes to school districts, parks and libraries or to individuals experiencing extraordinary emergencies such as loss of job or medical emergencies.
