Austin ISD Media Relations Office Changes
Starting Monday, March 1, Patricia Fraga will join the Department of Communications and Community Engagement for Austin ISD as a temporary Senior Communications Specialist to support communications and community outreach efforts through media relations. Fraga will be filling in for Cristina Nguyen while on leave. She will be working with Communications Specialist Eduardo Villa until June 1.

Start Application Pre-K 3 and Pre-K 4 Applications and Transfers Applications for eligible and tuition-based students open on April 1 and remain available on an ongoing basis until the campus reaches capacity. Families may apply for their child to attend a Pre-K3 or Pre-K4 program at a campus other than their zoned school, based on space availability.

Austin ISD Board approves 24 state-mandated turnaround plans, school consolidation and programmatic reassignments
The Austin ISD Board of Trustees voted to approve 24 state-mandated turnaround plans. The Board’s action included additional votes, which approved the closure and consolidation of 10 schools due to TAPs and programmatic moves, beginning in the 2026–27 school year.
