Dear Taxpayers: You may have noticed that your recent tax bill included a line item attributed to the Austin Independent School District. I would like to explain what happens to over a third of the school property tax dollars you may believe are being used to support our own Austin students.
Texas Science & Engineering Fair
First- , second- and third-place finalists from the Austin Energy Regional Science Festival are eligible to compete in the Texas Science & Engineering Fair.This year, AISD has 16 finalists—11 high school students and five middle school students—who are eligible to compete in San Antonio.The Austin ISD Science Team arranges and pays for all travel for students who elect to participate.
Austin ISD Board of Trustees Approves Appointment of Director of Recruiting and Staffing
On Oct. 27, the Austin ISD Board of Trustees approved the appointment of Kristen Hilsabeck, PHR, as director of recruiting and staffing. Hilsabeck has a 13-year history with the district, having served as human resources technician/certification analyst, staffing specialist, substitute services coordinator and professional human resources coordinator in charge of high schools.
