Free Spanish-language Parent Workshops Thursday and Saturday
The Austin independent School District’s Hispanic Futures program presents Los Años Maravillosos (the Wonder years), a new Spanish-language workshop for parents of students in grades fifth through eighth.The workshop is 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, at Burnet Middle School, 8401 Hathaway Drive; and 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at Garcia Middle School, 7414 Johnny Morris Road.
AISD Board Approves Single-Sex Schools

MLK Day Celebration
Austin ISD will hold its annual MLK Day celebration from 9–10 a.m. Jan. 18 in the CAC Board Auditorium.This year’s theme is Equity and Inclusivity, with a keynote address from UT professor Peniel Joseph.
