AISD Announces Schools Frozen to Transfers for 2016-17
Last night, Austin ISD announced the names of 23 schools that will be frozen to transfers during the 2016-17 school year. Each year, AISD determines which schools should be frozen to transfers because they have, or are expected to have, enrollments that exceed their capacities.
McCallum Knights Celebrate 65th Commencement
McCallum High School honored about 400 students at its graduation ceremony this morning at the Frank Erwin Center. Several speakers noted the school’s football success this year with an undefeated regular season. Valedictorian Davis Roe congratulated the Class of 2018, while thanking all of those who had helped them throughout high school.
Austin ISD Receives Superior Financial Integrity Rating from TEA
Austin ISD received a 98 of 100 Financial Integrity Rating from the Texas Education Agency for 2020, displaying the district’s high standards for fiscal responsibility.

AISD Trustees Approve Nine Principal Appointments in March-April
This week, Austin ISD's Board of Trustees approved six new principal appointments at five elementary schools and one middle school. The appointments are effective July 2013. The recent appointments bring the total number approved by the board during March and April to nine. Trustees approved the following principal appointments:
Austin ISD Expands Wi-Fi Bus Service Hours
Austin ISD will continue to use Wi-Fi-enabled buses to provide free internet access to students as the school year begins. Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 8 until Oct. 5, Austin ISD will expand the times its Wi-Fi buses are available from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
