AISD Hosts FAFSA Information Sessions

AISD’s Office of College & Career Readiness is hosting virtual information sessions for students and parents on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid form.

The FAFSA for the 2021-2022 school year is now live, and AISD is kicking off the FAFSA completion campaign for the class of 2021. Visit the MyRedKite webpage for a full list of dates, times and locations and to pre-register.

The virtual sessions are hosted in partnership with the Austin Chamber of Commerce, Austin Community College, and other college access partner organizations in Central Texas. Sessions will include information on different types of college financial aid available. Attendees will get an overview of the FAFSA form and the opportunity to ask questions. During each virtual help session, trained FASFA completion volunteers will be available to assist students and families.

All Class of 2021 seniors and/or their families are encouraged to pre-register for at least one of the FASFA virtual help sessions.
The Austin Chamber of Commerce will automatically enter those who pre-register and complete their FASFA into a drawing for a $2,500 scholarship.

Access opportunities for college by completing the FAFSA now. The earlier students complete it, the more access they will have to access the highest amount of financial aid. The FASFA priority deadline, but not the final deadline, is Jan. 15.
