AISD Names James Butler the 2014 Elementary School Teacher of the Year
James Butler is a prekindergarten teacher at Gullett Elementary School. He ensures that the school’s newly formed Pre-K program is up to standard with AISD guidelines and that the program continues to grow and serve as a positive addition to the Gullett community. Austin ISD Announces 2020 Teachers of the Year
Superintendent Paul Cruz surprised four teachers during their virtual faculty meeting today to announce their selection as Austin ISD's 2020 Teachers of the Year for elementary and secondary schools. Being selected as a Teacher of the Year is one of the highest honors the district bestows on AISD educators.

School Improvement Initiative
The Austin ISD School Improvement Initiative is a targeted approach to transforming schools to increase student outcomes. Austin ISD families will have access to their child’s Spring 2025 STAAR scores this month through the Parent Portal.
