Austin, TX— Austin Independent School District (AISD) is proud to announce the district has earned the 2011 Gold Leadership Circle Award for a second year in a row from the Texas Comptroller. Free "Raising Boys to Men" Parenting Workshop to be held Saturday, May 7

TAKS Retesting Available In October To Out-Of-School Students
Austin, TX—Texas Assessment of Knowledge & Skills (TAKS) retesters, or students who still need to pass a portion of the Exit Level TAKS tests to earn a high school diploma, may register to participate in the October administration of the TAKS Test being held at campuses throughout the Austin Independent School District (AISD) from Oct. 18 to Oct. 21.
Sunset Valley Celebrates 40th Anniversary
Sunset Valley Elementary will be celebrating their 40th anniversary by hosting two ceremonies on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011. AISD Student Participation in SAT Continues to Increase
Austin, TX—Austin Independent School District (AISD) student participation in the SAT test continued to increase in 2011. AISD students outscored their counterparts in the state in Critical Reading, Math and Writing, while students’ average score was above that of the nation in Math, according to data released by the College Board today.
Superintendent Recommends Facility Master Plan
Austin Independent School District Superintendent Meria Carstarphen unveiled the Administrative Recommendation for a Facility Master Plan (FMP) at the September 26 Regular Board Meeting. The FMP aligns with the district’s strategic plan goals to ensure academic success for all students and prepare them to graduate ready for college, career, and life in a globally competitive economy.
TAKS Retesting Available In October to Out-Of School Students
The Austin Independent School District encourages all students who need to retest, or students who still need to pass a portion of the Exit Level TAKS tests to earn a high school diploma, to register for retesting on October 18-21, 2011. All testing will be held at campuses throughout the school district. Students may also register at their home campus on the day of testing.
Island Music Featured in 2nd Annual AISD Steel Drum Band Festival
