The Norman-Sims Elementary School Trailblazers are celebrating the virtual grand opening of the new modernized campus Thursday, Feb. 11.
The entire community is invited to join Principal Wendy Mills, who has led both campuses while co-located, along with members of the Austin ISD leadership team to celebrate. Participants can join via Zoom webinar or watch live on the district’s Facebook page.
“We are inviting all former students of Norman and Sims elementary schools to attend the grand opening ceremony,” Mills said. “This is the next step in a bold new beginning for both the school and our community.”
The modernized Norman-Sims will allow students to be active learners in 21st-century educational spaces. They will use technology and learn collaboratively in the newly designed classrooms. The campus will also allow teachers to easily deliver the Norman-Sims’ Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics curriculum with a focus on inspiration, collaboration and discovery.
What: A virtual grand opening ceremony held by AISD will be showcasing the new, modernized Norman-Sims campus. The event will include a fun student reenactment between G.W. Norman and Mary J.
