The Austin ISD Board of Trustees approved the appointment Dec. 17 of Nathan Steenport to serve as principal of Doss Elementary.

Steenport most recently served as principal of Northwest Elementary School in Pflugerville ISD. He has been an educator for more than 13 years, including classroom teaching positions and serving as an elementary school assistant principal.

Steenport has a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from Lamar University and a master’s degree in educational administration from Concordia University. He is currently working toward a doctoral degree in school improvement at Texas State University, with an anticipated completion in 2019.
