Media Advisory: Travis High School Participates in No Bullying Week

AUSTIN, TEXAS—Austin ISD’s Travis High School will hold a No Bullying Week from Nov. 4 through Nov. 8 as part of a district-wide effort to raise anti-bullying awareness and support the No Place for Hate initiative.

What: No Bullying Week, including a pep rally on Nov. 4 during lunch. The pep rally features student organizations, cheerleaders, the football team and the Rebelettes dance team.

When:

Pep Rally: 12:16 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4

Mix it Up Lunch: 12:16 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5

Wear Purple Day: Wednesday, Nov. 6

No Name Calling Day: Thursday, Nov. 7

Travis Unity Shorts: Friday, Nov. 8

Where: Travis High School, 1211 E. Oltorf St.

Background: Travis High School has organized an activity for each day of the week in support of No Place for Hate efforts.

Launched in 2001, No Place for Hate is a national initiative that provides educators and students with resources to ensure that anti-bias and diversity education are an integral part of the school curriculum. It helps to create and sustain inclusive school environments where all students feel valued and have the opportunity to succeed by promoting respect for individual difference while challenging bigotry and prejudice.
