Anderson High School UIL One-Act Play Team Competes at State

AUSTIN, TX—This week, Austin ISD students from Anderson High School will compete in a statewide University Interscholastic League competition for best one-act, which UIL describes as the largest high school play production contest in the world.

What: Anderson High School students perform “Moon Over Buffalo” at statewide UIL competition

When: 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 22. Anderson is expected to perform at 9 p.m.

Where: University of Texas at Austin, Bass Concert Hall

Background: In March, Anderson competed at the Zone competition where junior Blake Robbins won best actor and senior Hanna Tyson won best actress. Anderson and Bowie high schools competed at the district’s one act play competition, where they became co-district champions. In April, both schools competed at the area meet, where Anderson advanced to regionals with its performance “Moon Over Buffalo” and Tyson earned the best actress award. Anderson later performed at regionals at Baylor University, where it earned one of two spots in the state competition.

Tickets are $10 for students with a valid ID and $12 for adults.
