Austin, TX— Tonight, the Austin Independent School District’s Board of Trustees voted on the selection of a temporary name for the district’s new bus terminal as the Southeast Bus Terminal until the board selects a permanent name for the facility.

The terminal was built as a part of the 2004 Bond Program and is located at 7200 Bluff Springs Road. AISD built the new facility to relieve congestion and the over-use of other district bus terminals, as well as reduce the travel distance for buses serving students in Southeast Austin.

The Southeast Bus Terminal is composed of a 7,400-square-foot administration building, a 13,000-square-foot maintenance building, parking spaces for 176 school buses, and a fueling station.
