Austin, Texas—Students in the Austin Independent School District are scheduled to take state exams, including the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness and theTexas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills, during April and May.

To reduce distractions and help students focus on their tests, the news media's access to AISD campuses will be limited during the weeks of:

• April 22             STAAR and TAKS    

• May 6                STAAR    

• May 13              STAAR

The first week of this month's STAAR testing began April 1. As has been the practice on test days in the past, the district will continue to limit visitors' access to schools during student assessment periods. As always, AISD appreciates the news media's cooperation.
