AISD Alumnus Shares Mouse’s Mayoral Campaign Story for Reading is Fundamental Week

Austin, Texas—In celebration of Reading is Fundamental week, the Anita Uphaus Early Childhood Center will host Kip Cosson, a New York artist and children’s author who will read his new book, Meece for Mayor of New York City.

What: Anita Uphaus Early Childhood Center celebrates Reading is Fundamental Week with a reading by Cosson, an alumnus of the Austin Independent School District.

When:  9 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17

Where: Anita Uphaus Early Childhood Center Library, 5200 Freidrich Lane

Background: Kip Cosson, a 1978 graduate of McCallum High School, is the founder of Kip Kids, a national clothing line for children and infants that features bold colors and child-like designs, which has appeared in Parent andGlamour magazines and on the cover of TV GUIDE. 

Cosson is the author of children’s books, including Meece for Mayor of New York City, which Austin MayorLee Leffingwell described as a “fun way to get children learning about the election process.”
