Austin ISD will hold its annual MLK Day celebration from 9–10 a.m. Jan. 18 in the CAC Board Auditorium.

This year’s theme is Equity and Inclusivity, with a keynote address from UT professor Peniel Joseph. Joseph is the founder of the Center for the Study of Race and Democracy at the University of Texas at Austin’s LBJ School of Public Affairs.

In addition to our keynote speaker, there will be musical performances from Covington Middle School’s Jazz Band and Sadler Means Young Women’s Leadership Academy’s Choral Ensemble, along with spoken word performances from Gus Garcia Young Men Leadership Academy and Barbara Jordan Elementary School students.

A light breakfast will be provided.
