Austin ISD invites the community to join us as we march in the annual Austin Pride Parade. Our goal is to increase visibility of AISD as an LGBTQ-friendly district and create a safe, supportive learning environment for all students.
Marchers should arrive at 12th and Trinity streets at 7:15 p.m. The parade starts at 8 p.m. and continues down Congress Avenue and across Fourth Street to Republic Square Park, a distance of approximately three-quarters of a mile.
Parking is available at the 15th Street and San Jacinto Boulevard parking garage for $5.
AISD buses will transport students to and from the parade. Buses will depart promptly at 7 p.m. from Akins and Austin high schools, and from Reagan Early College High School. Students who are riding the bus should arrive at the schools no later than 6:45 p.m.
After the parade, students will be transported back to Akins, Austin and Reagan at approximately 10:45 p.m.
All students who choose to participate are required to have a release form signed by a parent or guardian. Elementary students are required to be accompanied by adults.
