Austin ISD invites you to participate in the quarterly AISD African-American Community Advisory Committee Meeting.

The advisory's charge is to:

• Gather information and encourage research of concerns to the African-American community including literacy, disproportionality, retention rates, parental involvement, discipline rates, advanced academics and learning environments.
• Advise the AISD Department of Communications and Community Engagement regarding strategies for effective engagement of communications for and to the African-American community.
• Advise the office of the Ombudsman and the Department of School, Family and Community Education regarding strategies that result in effective and exceptional customer service to the district’s African-American parents, students and community.
