Volunteer Opportunity: Go Green at Travis High School

Date
Saturday, January 26, 2013 - 9:00 am to 1:00 pm

Start the year out right by doing good.

AISD invites community members to volunteer their time this Saturday to help Travis High School students build a water catchment system, garden planters, and edible landscape at their school. Attendees can learn from permaculture experts and work along with students to revitalize an unused courtyard space.  Volunteers are needed to dig, rake, haul supplies, and build composting bins.

Some tools will be available, but volunteers are asked to please bring a steel rake, wheel barrow, shovel, hoe, or a pick ax if they are availabile. Wear gloves, clothes and shoes for working in the dirt! We break ground Saturday, Jan. 26 at 9 a.m. at Travis High School, 1211 E. Oltorf St.
