Who: The District Advisory Council is a committee of parents, students, business and community representatives, teachers, principals, and other district staff. The DAC provides valuable input to the Superintendent and Board of Trustees, who ultimately have decision-making responsibility for the district.
What: The formation of the DAC is required by state law (Texas Education Code, §11.251). Specific functions of the DAC include providing review and comment on:
- District Educational Program
- District Performance
- District Improvement Plan
- Student Code of Conduct
- District Staff Development Plan
- Waiver Requests to the State
- District Budget
When: 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM
Where: Board Auditorium of the Carruth Administration Center located at 1111 W. 6th St. unless specified otherwise announced.
Regular meetings of the DAC are open to the public. Interested individuals may sign up to speak to the DAC on issues of a district-wide nature prior to the start of each regular meeting.
Citizen communications are heard at the beginning of each regular meeting.
