Austin ISD’s very own Darien Clary has been recognized with the School District Champion Award. Clary, who serves as the district’s sustainability director, since 2016 to bring sustainable practices to the district, including the introduction of composting at schools and expanding the solar panel program.
Why it matters: As an organization with a large footprint in Central Texas, it's essential for Austin ISD to be intentional in how students, staff and schools can impact the environment.
We’re deeply engaged with budget planning for the year, with a June deadline to approve our 2025-26 school year budget and important work underway. Thank you to all in our community who are engaging with this process.
In this Board Bulletin, we’ll dive into some budget recommendations and strategies presented to the board during its March Regular Voting Meeting.

The meeting included two budget-focused presentations: The Gibson Cost Savings Audit and a general Budget Update.

You're invited to the 20th Annual Unity Walk and 9th Annual Kids Fest! The Unity Walk & Kids Fest brings together the Northeast Early College High School (ECHS) Vertical Team, Child Inc. Head Start, Austin Voices for Education and Youth, and community partners to provide valuable resources and information that support youth education and development from cradle to college and career.
Travis Early College High School invites the Austin ISD community to Rebel Fest 2025, a fun-filled event celebrating student programs and local engagement! Hosted by the Travis Alumni Association and Travis Pittmasters, the festival will take place on April 5, 2025, from 1 - 4 p.m. at 1211 E. Oltorf St., Austin, TX.
Highlights include a Student BBQ Competition, where attendees can purchase wristbands to enjoy a BBQ sample and cast their vote. The event also features a Vendor & Resource Fair, a raffle hosted by Travis ECHS, and drinks sold by the Rebelettes.
Enroll your child for Pre-K at Austin ISD! The Enrollment Team is hosting a Virtual Pre-K Enrollment Clinic on Thursday, April 3, 2025, from 5 - 8 p.m. Families can join virtually via Zoom, and receive one-on-one support via breakout rooms.

CTE provides students with the academic knowledge and technical skills they need to gain entry to high-skill, high-wage, and high-demand industries. CTE provides work-based learning experiences that combine hands-on learning with real-world scenarios so students are prepared to enter the workforce or college after they graduate high school.
